• Hello,

Today I launched my new website but it is running very slow.
When I do a speedtest via Google or Pingdom it tells me the slowness is caused by a file named: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. This file takes 6 seconds to load…

What can be causing this and how can I solve it?

    I run the following plugins:
    Woocommerce
    Wordpress SEO by Yoast
Google Analytics for WordPress by Yoast
    W3 Total Cache
    WP Live Chat Support Pro
    WP DB-Manager
    Contact Form 7

    The address is https://www.vsbtotaalzorg.nl

    Thanks in advance!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I did do all those indeed but it still remains slow. I even switched hosting provider but the issue keeps showing.

I’m running out of ideas what to do.

Can we see the site using the default Twenty Twelve theme with all other plugins deactivated?

Is that the only way possible to solve this?
I just opened shop today and even send out a press release so it would be awkward if the website isn’t online or it’s all funny looking.

    Anyone?

You can install the p3 (plugin performance profile) plugin – it will scan your plugins to see which if any are slowing down your site.
