Hello! i am making a ecommerce website for a family member. I noticed the website being already super slow. It takes 5-10 seconds to load. I was just getting started so the website doesnt contain alot of files (no pictures etc). In the google pagespeed test it gives me a rating of (68). It used to be worse but adding some plugins like w3 cache and autoptimezed helped a bit. I am using elementor in combination with a Astra Theme. When i turn off Elementor the loading time improves and google pagespeed gives a rating of above 90, so i think the problem is due to using Elementor. I cant code so at the moment i need a page builder.

I am kind of stuck now because i dont want to continue building a website with slow loading times. Is there a way to fix the speed?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Why don’t you give WordPress’ built-in block editor a try? It may lack a couple of shiny bells&whistles that you might get in a full-blown page builder, but it can probably take you much further than you think.

Ill try. Hope i can achieve my goals with te wp block editor. But strange that elementor makes it so slow. Because off all the bloat i think? Wonder how other people fix this. (Being that it is the most used page builder). Anyway thx for the support!

I ran a test on gtmetrix.com and the first thing that stands out is your server response time. While elementor is known for adding bloat to wordpress sites, the performance of your web host is just as important. If you really need to use elementor, please search for ways to optimize an elementor website. It can be done but it takes a lot of work.

Better change my hosting also. I think the combination of changing the host and using the wp block editor will solve my problem. Thx for the support @bigmoxy and @tobifjellner.
