    Hi,
In the last few days, one of my sites became very very slow.
While investigating it, I found that in GTmetrix waterfall a lot of red lines with “No Response Headers – Request incomplete” >4.8s appeared with the Contact-form-7 address.
I thought it is a problem of the CF7 but after investigating and deactive Popup Maker plugin, those errors disappeared and the site speed became fast.
    F score
    A score without active Popupmaker
How can I solve it? I have more than 300 popups which made with Popup Maker.
    All wordked fine before.

    Hi @webcart

Thank you for getting in touch, and we’re sorry the site loads slowly.

We checked the scores, and the F score points to your elements not related to Popup Maker. While other because of the javascript from your theme and other plugins.

    See:
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQujLOWw
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/6quGm9Xy

Popup Maker adds 2 files and some div to your popup content. One JS and one CSS file, which are very small. It has no impactful load on your site by itself, which has been thoroughly tested with upwards of 100+ empty popups and no speed hits.

You might want to consider checking the Javascripts from your theme and other plugins.

We also checked your site, and we did not find any optimization plugins/CDN that can help the performance of your site and increase the score.

Could you check a cache/optimization plugin like Autoptimizer, WP Rocket, etc? While Cloudflare, Cloudways, etc. for the CDN?

Lastly, please check and add targeting rules on your popups to limit which pages they would be loaded on.

We hope that helps. Let us know if you have any questions.

    Hi @belimperial,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
    I do use Breeze plugin.
With all the elements, javascript etc’, the bottom line is that I have many errors with a big delay when I enable Contact Form 7 and Popup Maker.
    Please see it here:
    https://postimg.cc/mcVwbKtK

When I deactivate Contact Form 7 or Popup Maker, those errors are gone.
Because all of the forms are built with Contact Form 7, I can not remove this plugin so I need to find the solution for the conflict with Popup Maker that suddenley happened.

    Hi,
Just found out that my customer added ~260 new popups in addition to the ~95 popups he had before.
All the new ~260 popups should be triggered in one page only.
I wonder if I will instruct my customer to target all those ~260 popups to the specific page, will it solve the problem of the oher pages (slowness) and on the other hand, how to solve the problem with the related page found here.

Hello @webcart – thanks for sending us more details.

If you are experiencing page speed issues, then the main reason is that you did not set any targeting conditions to the popup.

?To resolve this type of issue, targeting rule is the possible solution.

You will need to set the Targeting Condition to Pages: Selected and select a specific page where you want the popup to be triggered.
    ?
    ?See demo screencast: https://share.getcloudapp.com/2NumXG61

You can also check this guide for more details: Standard Targeting Conditions

    We hope this helps.

If you have any other questions, let us know.

    Cheers

    Hi @mariatogonon,
    Thanks for your reply.
I understand your suggestion to target each popup to its’ page.

I have a page with about ~260 popups. What about it? It will continue to be slow because all the targeting will point to this page:
    Link

    How to solve it?

    Hi @webcart

    Thank you for your reply.

We checked the link you sent. It only took milliseconds to show the page content.

We believe the popups (plugin files/content) will not slow down the page. The popups available on the link doesn’t have any videos, iframes, or large images. Those media types and HTML tag can affect the page speed.

However, please consider the other resources (third-party plugins/theme) the page is using.

We also analyze the page using GTMetrix. It shows the page/site is not optimized.

Kindly consider using cache/optimization plugin/CDN to help optimize your site.

    Here’s the report we get:

    https://gtmetrix.com/reports/lexicala.com/6ZgBmjSP/
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAuj0dDR

We hope this information help you with the page speed.

Please let us know if you have clarifications.

    Hi @belimperial,
You checked the link while it’s on cache.
Please check the link without a cache here. It’s more than 10 seconds to load.

Regarding the GTMetrix report, please see this report with AA grade.
This report was made with Popup Maker disabled.

You can see the difference between the two reports, that in your reports there are a lot of “Schema” and “refill” files which could not load and each of them takes more then a second while try to load.

When you check GTMetrix report without your plugin, you could not find those lines, but 2 lines which load OK.
This is the problem I think I have.
When I disable Contact Form 7 plugin, those error lines are also gone.

So, it looks like there’s a conflict between CF7 to Popup Maker that makes all of those error lines.
I need a solution for those lines as it effects the site speed.

    (@belimperial)

    Hi @webcart

We’ve seen the link. Indeed, the non-cache page takes time to load. We found the schema error on Contact Form 7. Popup Maker doesn’t have control over the scheme that Contact Form 7 loads.

We believe this produces the page speed issue. It can’t establish a database connection.

    Please see:
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/12uzeAvy
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/WnuD2Y0n

We’ve also made tests, but we didn’t replicate the issue. The page content loads immediately without the errors from Contact Form 7.

    Please see:
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/rRuQyGN1

It seems the issue is isolated to your site. Could you reach out to Contact Form 7 support to get their input about the schema error?

We hope that helps, and we look forward to your response.

    Thank you!
