The site is a bit slow and we received following tips from WP Engine:

    Hello there,

Thank you for contacting WP Engine.

I was able to take a look at the site and have suggestions to improve the performance.

The test that I utilized for this test was webpagetest.org which provides a different view than most test since it provides a WaterFall and a Cached View of your site.

This does look bad at a first glance but lets take the positives from this and look at the Cached hit that it gets when users return to your site. It is coming back in 1.966s which is a fast loading site. The reason that the site is loading so much faster off a cached hit then for a return visitor is because they have an a cached version of your images which are taking up the most time to load.

Here are a couple images that are killing the sites load time. The 5 images below take anywhere between 1249ms-12456ms

Those images are large in size and resolution and would need to be compressed to get a better performance from your site. Here is a site or a plugin that we have seen work in the past, this does not mean that these are the best option for your site but other customers have seen success, also we do not provide support for the referenced site or plugin.

    kranken.io
    TinyPNG

You can also look into getting a CDN either through us or through CloudFlare. Either one is going to get the job done and will serve content quickly.

Any other suggestions what we could do?
