Hi, we are runnig a WordPress site with more then 150k posts.

The relevanssi indexing itself took almost a week but it’s done now.

The idea was to improve the speed and the relevance, but the query looks like very slow.

What could be the reason and how could we solve this.

    Thanks

I would not recommend Relevanssi as a fast search option for a site with 150k posts. It’s likely faster than the default WP search, but certainly not the fastest option. Instead, I would recommend using Relevanssi Light. It’s super fast and doesn’t require a week of indexing.

But Relevanssi doesn’t have to be slow, either. I know someone who uses Relevanssi on a site with millions of posts, and it works fine.

When you say “very slow”, what do you mean exactly? How many seconds approximately? Are we talking about 10 seconds, 30 seconds, or a minute? Have you enabled the throttle? Are you using any custom functions?

thank you, the slow meant 20-30 seconds

I believe it’s solved with server tweaks like memory limit and such
