Slow page performance

    Today, I bought your AAM Plus Package extension to be able to restrict the access to a category in our knowledge base (help guru template).
    After installing the extension, the site started being unbearably slow. The loading of any page (both backend and frontend) takes 20+ seconds. Basically this has rendered the page unusable.
    Why is the page with your extension activated so slow, and is there anything we can do about it?
    We currently have about 10 articles in our knowledge base.

    Edit 1:
    I just tried resetting the AAM setting to defaults to make sure that it is not a configuration problem and the pages still load slow.
