Slow page loads with template overrides

This is a fairly easy issue to reproduce… the page loads when using template overrides are 3-5x longer than those without. My guess is that when the plugin sees the woocommerce directory within your theme, it’s causing the webserver to wait on disk reads while it tries to figure out what you’ve overwrote.
I’m not sure if there’s a more “proper” way to do template overrides, or if there’s a setting somewhere that could help alleviate this.
