• My site is running ridiculously slow – about 45sec for a page to load. This is my first time using a pre-built theme instead of a custom theme. Admin side is equally slow.

    I’ve tried:
    Using the godaddy server
    Using my computer via localhost
    Disabling all plugins
    Deactivating theme/activating a different theme
Removing all CSS & JS (just to see)
Running Query Monitor (I have one query that takes .09sec but I’m not sure what to do about it)

I have absolutely no idea what else I can do. Any thoughts?

Is it that slow if you change the theme to twentysixteen?

Yes. I assume the only common denominator is the database? I might just start fresh with my own custom theme…

If you say it’s slow on GD *and* localhost, then there’s some other problem! Is it sill slow in both places with 2016?

I think it’s slightly faster on 2016, but still too slow to use. I imported Envato’s database when I bought the theme, I assume there’s something going on there? By process of elimination it couldn’t be anything else, could it?

Do you mean you loaded it with Envato’s sample content? perhaps. But I find that kind of hard to believe.

Yes, that’s correct. It’s about 10mb, which I think isn’t that large for a database. I supposed I can make another database and link it up to see if that’s the problem. I’ll try that.
