• Hi,
I am running a website (https://newblackberryphones.net) which seems to load pretty fast (the homepage).
The problem is that when I try to access a post it takes a good few seconds (google webmaster tool says up to 9 seconds) which is not good at all.
I have configured W3 Total Cache plugin but not many improvements.
Could be the problem that it has a custom permalink? I know that wp process those links slower than the default one.
It does not use large images but still will consider to move on to a CDN if that would help.
The database tables are optimized, css and javascript files are minified, etc…
Please not that this slow load only happens to posts, not to categories, homepage, tags, contact page and so on.
Any though of how can this be optimized for a faster load?
One last thing to notice is that the website is hosted on hostagtor.com along with another 20-25 websites but with low traffic. Could the hosting be an issue?
    Thanks

  • yeah Anjelika same thing with me too..
the hostgator guy told me to update wordpress to 3.2.1 from 3.2 it doesn’t help still

There are issues at Hostgator with WP that they either are aware of and not saying or can’t figure out because I had the same problems.

Changed hosts and the problems disappeared.

HG told me it was a plugin issue but it was not.

    Check your server loads.

Hard to believe this is a Hostgator problem, but in case it is..what other hosting do you recommend?
    Thanks

Hard to believe this is a Hostgator problem

I am not saying it is site wide, but on the server I was on it was definitely a HG issue. It was dozens of sites with the same issue all of which went away when they were on their new server.

As far as recommendations, I can only say research, research.

I ended going with a small company that has excellent customer service and handled the transfer flawlessly.

What are your settings? It seems that the default plugin settings are the best place to start.

Don’t bother changing hosts. This really a v3.2.1 problem.
I own a webhostingcompany in the Netherlands and have tried to really figure this out. I’ve installed test versions on several servers with different specs. All versions prior to 3.2 run fine. It’s version 3.2.1 where the sh*t hits the fan.
I really hope the WordPress guys resolve this issue soon.

@anjelika, what was the resolution to your issue?
