Slow loading

  • I have the latest version of WP installed on my websites, and I have notice significant slow loading.

    Most often I will bring up the wp_admin login page instantly, but after I click the button to login it takes 10-20 seconds to load the dashboard, sometimes longer.

    I deleted every plugin I could and only have 5 installed that are not large and heavy, they are: Akismet, DBD Footprints, Limit Login Attempts, WP-PageNavi, Wp Pagenavi Style.

    I actually had this issue before installing DBD Footprints which just puts a footer box on the site for html counter codes and the like.

    Anyway, I have also tried to reinstall WP and it will take a very long time and end up timing out.

    I blamed my Web host and changed web host but the problem remains. I deleted every pluggin I thought might be causing the issue.

    I would also take a serious look at Counterize plugin because I installed and uninstalled it on two different sites and it caused corrupted the WP files so now I cannot update WP or install most other plugins.

    I think this version of WP is causing some the slow loading of the dashboard and often of the pages while not in dashboard, just loading as a normal site visitor. I have several WP sites and my html site load instantly, but my WP sites are pretty slow to load most of the time.

    P.S. SOmetimes the Wp_admin page also takes a very long time to load. ANd that just after changing web hosts and have no issues with html sites.

    Try deactivating all plugins, not just the ones you don’t need. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
