We have a large number of users (535 and growing) and we’re hoping to use the functionality of this widget to show the latest “active users” on our homepage. It works right now but I’m guessing something about the way it pulls that information is taking a long time, ~30-40 seconds for the page to load the list. Number of authors or gravatar type doesn’t seem to effect the load time. Is it having to cycle through the whole wp_users table on page load? Any idea what I might need to modify to speed it up? Yes I know that this can be a problem

You may find better when the caching working

Feel free to look at the caching on the SQL I have added some but don’t have a large user set to test

I had given a cursory glance but where are the SQL commands happening in the plugin? I can see what I can come up with and help you test it with our install. I’ll be watching the Github project as well.

what we may need to do is change the ‘wp_cache_set()’ to ‘set_transient()’ and the wp_cache_get() to get_transient() etc. so that way are store across page loads

Have just changed the caching to Transients

Can you install this version and see if improves the load times
