Slow download of rating page

    Due to the current health restrictions on group meetings, I am working to get the Entry Wizard Rating form working. In lieu of the live judging, we need to have the judges score images from home.

    I have been able to get the system to work for me with the exception of the download speed of the images. There are 255 images with a total file size of 222MB. The download of the rating page times out and a number of refreshes (4-5) are required to complete the download of all the data. Subsequent visits to the rating page take about 30 seconds to download.

    I’ve tried three PCs, three browsers and two internet providers, with no difference in result.

    i am also starting a ticket with the hosting company to see if they are throttling the download because of repeated separate actions.

    Yes, it can be a problem, especially with much heavier internet usage now.

    I’d suggest breaking down each competition into smaller ones — 255 images sounds like quite a lot.
