• Hi, at the same time WP was automatically updated to 4.2.1 I started noticing a slowdown of my site.

Looking deeper, I noticed that a process gets started by owner ‘nobody’ with the following command

    /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -k start -DSSL

Many of those process get started each time we visit the site, or work in the admin.

So I believe my server has been compremissed, can someone share similar expriences and anyone has a solution to get rid of this intrusion ?

    Thanks

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thanks

I did this already, I even deleted all the subdirectories in the plugin folder. Still very slow.

Ok, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

ok, doing that… so far looking good, thanks.

I am just a bit worried that the database got corrupted.

    I’ll let you know
