Slow dashboard 2.7 help

  • Hello,

    I just updated to 2.7. The dashboard seems very slow. Everything takes maybe 20 seconds to load, and while loading my whole browser seems to “crash”.

    Any ideas?

    My blog has 6,000 posts and 15,000 comments – but I don’t see why this should be an issue. The old dashboard and admin ran fine.

    I was having this same problem. I had several hundred spam comments, which caused the “Recent Comments” box to perform multiple queries over hundreds of rows in the comments table before it came up with five legitimate ones to display.

    To solve the problem I simply deleted all my spam comments. The dashboard loads much faster now. Hope this works for you.
