    Hi!

Your plugin is amazing! I have been using it to print on a GCP printer once the customer places the order. Before, it took about 8-9 seconds for the “thank you” page to load after the customer placed the order. Now it takes a whopping 17 seconds to load.

I have been reviewing the logs, and apparently “raw print” alone takes 6-7 seconds. Is there any way to speed up the process? (I am ok with the receipt printing 30-40 seconds later but I just don’t want my user experience to suffer from it).

    Thank you so much!

At this time, we have not pushed any code changes in the past releases impacting the speed performance. Unfortunately, we don’t control the performance and response from the Google Cloud Print Service generating the print job.

As a result, depending on their services and servers, the API Calls could be quick or extended as you have noticed lately. Hopefully the performance impact duration will be limited, if not we’d recommend reaching out to GCP for service updates.

Got it! Would background printing get rid of this delay? What exactly is the technical name so that I can reach out to my hosting company and make sure they are not blocking it?

    Thanks

Background printing might help aid in reducing a few seconds, but the true performance dependancies will be on the Google Cloud Print services.

If print jobs are occurring on your Cloud Supported printers, the requests are not being blocked. Hosting providers will see the calls to Google services, if you want them to verify ??
