Slow Checkout

Sorry to hear that your checkout functionality is a bit slow. You can start by checking with your host if they provide advanced caching applications which will allow the site to use Object and Database caching. This will considerably speed up the backend and heavy front-end operations like users submitting carts and checkouts.

Another thing you can try is installing a Caching Plugin like W3 Total Cache or WP Rocket.

When using a Caching Plugin make sure to exclude the /myaccount, /cart, /checkout pages and all their child pages from caching.

You can also try to change the PHP server version and check if you see any improvement. You can switch directly from your CPanel or management console.

Always make sure you have a full backup in place of your site and database. You could consider using a service like Jetpack or installing a plugin like UpdraftPlus. If something goes wrong it’s nice to know that you can restore your site to the previous state.

Thanks for getting back.

Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

This problem may be caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. The best way to determine this is to:

• Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
• Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
• Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Please make sure you have a backup in place of your site and database. You could also consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site to the previous state.

I’d also suggest installing a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it allows you to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

I have actually upgraded my PHP version to 8.0 just recently as well as the database upgrade to MariaDB 10.3. There is very slight improvement but still not the improvement i’m expecting.

I also have WP Rocket installed & configured but still the issue is there.

I still don’t know why its slow & i really have no clue in solving this.

Anyone’s help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for your System Status.

I can see you have quite a number of active plugins and that can slow down your entire site. I run a test on GTmetrix and it seems that the overall performance is grade F which is a little bit too low. The whole site takes 8.4s to load. The recommended value for a better performing site is maximum 2-3 seconds.
