WP Engine hosts my site and they disallow slimstat because they say it causes database bloat.

What are your opinions and is there a solution? Can you prevent writing to the database (to the plugin folder instead?). Ever since moving to WP Engine I miss your plugin so so much ??

    Hi Jummul,

we’re aware of this ban on WP Engine, and unfortunately there’s not much we can do about it. However, you could use an external database, with our premium add-on, bypassing their limitation this way.

We also plan to have WP SlimStat installed on an external website/server, and then have it track your site by adding the corresponding tracking code, pretty much like Google Analytics does.

Writing to a file is not an option at the moment, given the complex structure of the queries we run on the data collected by the tracker. Maybe you can install something like AWStats.

A vote for SlimStat would be a nice way to say thank you.

    Happy New Year,
    Camu
