Sliding Doors/Portfolio Slideshow on Static Page
-
Hi,
very, very new to WordPress and very inexperienced with code. I am trying to create a basic photography website using the “Sliding Doors” theme. I have a static main page and am using the Portfolio Slideshow plugin to include slideshows. My problems:
I don’t understand why, when I type text in the text field, that the exact same text also shows up in the visual field. Isn’t there a distinction here between text and visual?
The slideshow works fine on the static page, but the “shortcode” text shows up above and below the slideshow.
Text Field
Thank you for visiting...Photography. Please use the links above to view sample slideshows and to find out information regarding rates, special packages and booking.?php echo do_shortcode('[portfolio_slideshow id=20]');
Visual Field
Thank you for visiting…Photography. Please use the links above to view sample slideshows and to find out information regarding rates, special packages and booking.?php echo do_shortcode(‘[portfolio_slideshow id=20]’);I have messed around a little trying to delete the shortcode that is showing up on the page, so the above may not be complete, but I had the same problem when the full shortcode was in those fields.
Once I can understand how to “separate” text from “visual” and not have the shortcode itself show up on the (static) page, I’m off to the races, but just can’t seem to get past this stumbling block. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Thanks
