    Hi,

I’ve been trying to display a slideshow on my posts page and have not found a way to make this work. I want to make my posts page the home page, but display a slide show of my client’s art above the most recent posts.

I first tried to set a page as my posts page and insert the slideshow’s shortcode in the body section. That didn’t work,

Then I tried putting the shortcode in a widget in one of the top widget areas. I set the widget to only display on that page. When I view the page, all it displays is the text, “!slideshow_deploy!”.

Any suggestions or plugins, I should try?

    Thanks,

    Broadlighter

Just tried another solution – put a posts display shortcode on the home page below the slideshow shortcode. The result was the same. I get the text: “!slideshow_deploy!” where the slide show should appear and the post displays.

There seems to be a compatibility issue with putting slide shows and posts on the same page, although I have seen WordPress sites with slideshows, carousels and posts on the same front page.

Can anyone explain why this is?

    Thanks,

    BL

Solved my problem. I’ve been using the plugin, Slideshow v2.2.11 by Stefan Boonstra. In the Slideshow Dashboard module, there’s a setting under Miscellaneous Settings: “Avoid content filter (disable if ‘!slideshow_deploy!’ is shown).” The default is set to ‘Yes,’ but for this purpose it should be set to ‘No.’

Then you put the slideshow into a widget in a top widget area. Slideshow has its own widget, so just select the particular slideshow for that widget, then set the Front page to posts.

    It will work.
