Slideshow gallery pro does not work on server.

Hi,
I have installed slideshow gallery pro successfully on my localmachine. If i use a php script in a page, it works, but the shortcode does not work.

Also, when i try to use it on my live server, while trying to activate the plugin, i get a fatal error saying.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING on line 1,
on slideshow-gallery-plugin.php page.

• I using wordpress 3.0.4
• I have php 5.2 on my server.
• Right now, i use the IP address to navigate to my live site.
• I have double checked for wp_head() and wp_footer()
• I also have some other plugins which use jquery but all plugins work fine on local machine, i dnt seem to understand why the plugin does not work on live server
