Slider won't update onto front page

I changed the slider on my front page using the customize feature of my theme, however this doesn’t update to the front page. The slider remains the same default one even if I take it down. Does anyone know why that is or how to fix it?

I have made my own slider, put it on the front page in the editor, and it shows up then but once i visit the site on my own it is still the default demo slider. Sliders work fine on other pages but on the front page it won’t change from the demo.
