I’m developing a WordPress site with the Newsmag theme and I have two issues that I can’t seem to figure out:

    1) I would like to add the slider widget to the top of my static homepage. I don’t see a way to have a slider on my homepage unless I choose the standard “recent posts” as my homepage. I want to have the slider, followed by my own content, not just recent blog posts, so using the traditional homepage won’t work for me.

    2) When I set a static page as the homepage, it provides me with a sidebar on the right, but I only want one column for all of the content. Is there a way to remove that sidebar? I see nothing in my widgets that force that sidebar to exist.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hi @mikeleins2,

    thank you for reaching out!

    1. That’s (currently) not possible, although we are working on making Newsmag as flexible as possible.
    2. You could set a page template for your static page (the one you want displayed as your front-page). Currently, NewsMag comes, by default, with several page templates. One of them is a full-width page layout – no sidebar.

    Thank you,
