Slider style not working on Twitter widget

We are just releasing an update that will set the text to align to the left by default unless people wish to style it differently. Thank you for the heads up.
As for the slider not displaying, I am just checking and will let you know shortly.

Going through the jquery files run on the site and testing we have established that there is a problem with jquery masonry and how our slider renders between slides.

Jquery masonry is a JavaScript grid layout library. It works by placing elements in optimal position based on available vertical space, sort of like a mason fitting stones in a wall. Due to our plugin running after this it can appear behind other widgets on the page as there is no height to our slides to begin with.

We are working on a solution to this for the following update. Thank you again for the heads up.

I have just updated the plugin to version 1.1.2, which contains a fix for this issue. Our Slider now detects if the site is using jQuery Masonry and asks it to recalculate positions each time the slide changes. This ensures that Masonry is given the chance to recalculate positions as our Slider changes its height.

This works on our test environment where we have reproduced the problem, but I would love to hear back about your experience with it. If this change does not resolve the issue for you I will continue working on the problem.

Thanks for such a prompt response. Unfortunately the update doesn’t appear to have solved the slider issue on the site that I am working on… The tweets are now left aligned though, which is great, so thank you for that. The only small issue with it is that the twitter @ username appears to be indented, unsure if that was intentional or not.

Okay, back to work for me. The indented username I can resolve in the same way as the Tweet text (It was not intentional at all). I will continue looking into fixing the display of the slider and let you know once I have a potential fix.

I have just released 1.1.3, which should resolve the account name not being aligned to the left and I have improved the code which checks if jQuery Masonry is active.

Let me know how it goes and if any of those problems are not resolved I will continue working on them.

Thank you very much. All updated and working fine now. The slider style doesn’t work on this particular site, but now it’s all left aligned I prefer it as a list anyway. Looks perfect now! Thanks again.

I just noticed the slider for my tweets is not working today. I have it set to show my last 10 tweets. It has been working fine until now. Today it is flashing the same tweet over again and not rotating as it was.

I installed an update this morning, emptied cache, refreshed the page and it is still not working properly. My site is: jgodigital.com

The slider still wasn’t working for me, it was not that I didn’t like it, but I am happy with it as a list format anyway, so it’s not an issue for me, but perhaps one you’d like to look into to make sure it looks on all sites.

Hi John and Luci,

I have just confirmed that the changes to the slider are not working in many conditions. Not only does it not always fix the jQuery Masonry problem, but that attempted fix sometimes still causes the slider to get stuck on a certain Tweet.

I will remove the code I added trying to make the slider compatible with jQuery Masonry and begin thinking about different ways I can solve the problem, as clearly trying to communicate with Masonry each slider opens up more potential problems than it solves.

I have just released version 1.1.5 which should return the Slider to its normal functionality.

Luci, I have returned this thread to [not resolved] and will continue working on alternative ways for the Slider to play nicely with jQuery Masonry used on Widget areas.
