• Hello,
I have just launched a new site using the genesis responsive slider on the home page. It is set to use pages, ‘including’ 5 pages using their page ID’s.
When you load the site, it loads everything else first and then, probably several seconds later, the slider loads and starts. Is there anything I can do to speed this up? Or at least have it load the first picture along with the rest of the website and then start the slideshow when it is ready? I have not had this problem on other sites and I can’t figure out why it would be so slow. I really don’t like the choppy effect it creates in loading the site.
I tried installing WP Super Cache to see if it would help and it did not, though I may not have it set up right for that specific issue.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!!

If you look at the source of your home page the page generation time is about 1.2 seconds. That does not include the time it takes the browser to load the CSS & scripts. It doesn’t start loading CSS & scripts until after the HTML of the page is loaded.

Have you tried deactivating your plugins one at a time to see if there is a particular one that is slowing the site down?

No, I have not really looked at other plugins, because the rest of the page always loads fine, just not the slideshow… it pops in after the rest of the page is already loaded. I will take a look though. I have very few plugins on this site.
