    Help !?

    Hi there,

WordPress homepage slider not showing images anymore as images in the slider can’t be loaded and functionality is disturbed and this happens today after upgrade to recent WordPress version.

    Here is the site homepage
    https://www.journalism.net.in

Any URGENT suggestion or help is sincerely appreciated.

    Thanks for your time.

Folks, I hate to be the potential bearer of bad tidings, but I had to step back and update my whole site with a newer template to resolve this issue. The slider plug-in would not update automatically, nor manually…through my process of systematic elimination to the root cause as to why the plug-in was no longer working properly, it turned out that the template was the problem, which was triggered by the install of the latest WordPress platform update.

If anyone else finds a less drastic solution, I am all game to try it, but thought I should share my findings here with those who are running into the exact same issue I have been having.

    Thanks LaScorpia70 for the update.

It is very stressing as we invested more than 2 years in selecting and setting up news portal and now changing to another template could be a big headache.

I agree and expected as much myself…we took pains to be sure to select a new template carefully and in the end, it was truly quite a simple exercise…but largely because we put the time in up front and made careful decisions.

    Hello

I am also having the same problem with the slider. Please can you help ASAP?

    My site is https://www.typicalcity.org/

    Thanks

I found that when I rebooted my server after updating it and all my plugins that it miraculously started working again. Sometimes there isn’t enough memory perhaps on the server when your page has been running for a while. A server reboot is always a good idea. I don’t know if you’re running your page on your own server or on someone else’s . Just give t a try.. I am running linux ubuntu . As far as I can tell your slider is working https://www.typicalcity.org

Hi all, if you are still having trouble with the slider would you be able to provide some more information to help troubleshoot, eg.

    • What browser/OS are you using
    • What plugins are you running?
    • Have you tried disabling all plugins to see if that resolves the issue. If it does then you can re-enable plugins one by one until the issue surfaces again to isolate which plugin is causing the conflict

I ask for more information because I can’t replicate the problem. Thanks.

@abbasmohsin – slider on your site appears to work great

@lascorpia70 – I’m confused by your comment “The slider plug-in would not update automatically” – this theme doesn’t need a plugin for the slider. The home page slider is native to the theme. If you are using a plugin for your slider I can’t be sure what the issue is there. Perhaps reach out to the plugin developer?

@typical-city – slider seems to be working on your site no?

    Dear Friends,

I have figured out the problem. Make sure your pic size is bigger enough. Small size images will not work. Here is what I used to fix the problem:

    Slider image size minimum:
    1000 x 500 pixels

    Hello WP Dev Shed,

Thanks for your time. I did disable all my plugin and activate one by one and the plugin which I hoped the least of an issue actually come out to be the one causing the problem.

The plugin for google tag manager – Google Tag Manager for WordPress by Thomas Geiger was causing the problem for me. I have deactivated this plugin and problem has disappeared. It is strange because this plugin for Google tag manager has maximum positive rating anyhow problem sorted at my end.

Please everybody should try as WPDEV SHED has recommended. WP DEV Shed thanks for your time.

    WP Dev Shed,

I was attempting to repair my slider on both my Windows as well as Mac machines…I have multiple. Additionally, I did disable all of my plugins attempting to determine if any of those were adversley affecting my sliders. In the end I ended up having to switch out my entire theme. Once I did that (because the theme I had originally purchased could not be updated (thinking that might rectify the issue), my sliders worked again.

So, right now, my sliders are all working once more; however, I am still faces with the fact that I cannot seem to get Revolutions Sliders to upgrade to its latest version…automatically or manually. I have worked through all of the online materials, and upon requesting assistance via email, I merely received the exact same information that I found online. In my frustration, the sliders are currently still being used on my site, but I will be discussing with my stakeholders that we need to phase them out solely unless somehow, someday, I manage to get the darned thing to upgrade to a more current version. I am sadly stuck in version 4.6.5.

    WP Dev Shed,,

FYI, the following is the mesage I am consistently receiving each time I attempt to update R.S. manually or via WordPress:

    Updating Plugin Revolution Slider (1/1)

    Downloading update from https://updates.themepunch.com/revslider/download.php?name=LaScorpia70&api=i65h56xxn6egn5lhf52m1psrcp9hrs5d&code=962a2aba-4dcf-49fa-9157-84db41acde09…
    Unpacking the update…
    Installing the latest version…
    Plugin update failed.

An error occurred while updating Revolution Slider: The package could not be installed. The package contains no files.
