    Hi all

I’ve been trying to use metaslider on my website. It’s all set up on a specific front page to work as a header. It was working fine, but then when I checked my site today, I discovered that it seems to be broken. It’s not sliding correctly, and the text is just appearing underneath.

When I go into the plugin, the preview looks correct, but it does have a bit of text saying “cookies” underneath it. I am wondering if the code behind the shortcode has been corrupted somehow? I disabled the cookie notice plugin, but this doesn’t seem to make a difference.

    The site is https://www.discoversinging.co.uk.

Can anyone advise as to what’s wrong, and how to fix it?

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

Could you disable the wp stats plugin and retest?

    Thanks,
    Dave

I don’t seem to have a plugin called wp stats?

    Thanks

    Hi

I have the same problem as @matcha Labs.

I have set it to “nivo slider and fold”, but it’s not the correct.

    Thanks.

    Hi there

    I’ve an similar problem.
The effects I can choose for my slider are greyed out. expect two or three of them. But if I select an black one, It changes nothing. The slider effects are always random.

I use the newest version of WordPress (4.5) and updated meta slider today.

–> https://www.bestzeit.ch (big slider on main page)

(I don’t need a giant list of effects. I would be happy with “slide from left to right”, “fade” and “random”.)

    @emomz

Could you try disabling the plugins you do have perhaps?

There’s an error on the page causing a 404 and breaking the footer and required files from loading, you can see this at the bottom of the page.

If you can work out what is supposed to be displayed here it might narrow it down – looking at the source code I can see a call to stats.wp.com just below the 404 which is why I think it might be related to a stats plugin, might have a different name though?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi there,

I have disable all the plugins and set it to “nivo slider and fold”, it still the same. No error shows on the page.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

It sounds like the theme may have developed an error – it looks like it’s using a custom child theme?

It could also be a widget in the footer – do you have any? Can you remove them if so?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for your reply. I am using a Child Theme.

Looking at my files, the footer seems to have become corrupted so there was no data in it, other than the text “404”. Once I had deleted this and recreated the footer, the slider has started working again, thankfully.

Thanks for your help – all fixed now ??

Great, glad you managed to sort it!

    All the best,
    Dave
