Yes the theme does has slider on the free version but for that you will have to install the site origin widgets plugin and page builder plugin by site origin.

Then you will have the slider widget available.

I’m sad, the theme seems to be wonderful, but the plugin that controls the home is very difficult, is not very friendly. The idea of theme design in the statement is fantastic, but the execution of the Home (slider, etc.) by the plugin is very complicated.

The whole idea of the theme was to make it compatible with the Site Origin Plugin for flexibility.

It might look difficult at first but it is quite easy.
