Slider Images Not Displaying Correctly

Hello,
Slider images are being magnified and cropped on my website (using the Amphawa theme). I adjusted the default slider size from 960×340 to 523×316, but the image now seems like it is a thumbnail blown up to 960×340 and then cropped somewhere in the center-left. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?
