Slider fade transition is not smooth

I have the slider on this page, but the fade transition is not smooth. You can see the first image disappearing, and during this time the content is pulled up. Then the next image shows. Basically, the transition is not smooth and is disturbing. Is this the expected behavior of Soliloquy or is there some CSS or hack that can make the transition smooth?
