Slider Confusion

In the customizer, the choices for slides (Slider Settings) for the slider refer to actual pages but also say that the “Slider image size (1500 x 590)”
I figure that the page references are probably links to where you wish the slide to take you when clicked.
But there is no place I can figure out how to set up the slider and it is not appearing on the home page.
