Slider and customization options missing

  • I installed Virtue theme a few weeks ago, when all the customisation options were available (other than under the ‘Theme’ option), with the sliders and home widgets etc. These have all gone missing since updating to WP 4.3 and updating the theme.

    The other plugins I had installed were TablePress and Easy Columns. It worked with both before, but now TablePress doesn’t seem to work anymore either.

    Is this theme going to have ongoing problems with other plugins? I don’t want to have to change my theme after doing updates because it breaks. I spent a lot of time formatting etc, and now it’s just not working anymore. I need the columns and tables – help!

    Checking again I see that the toolkit that is needed for the slider etc wasn’t uploaded automatically with the upgrade to the new version. All the customization is back now ??

    I am having the same problem with some of the customization settings missing…particularly the slideshow and mobile. I read the above and installed the toolkit but that didn’t help. I also deactivated all the plugins but that didn’t help either.

    Once you activate the virtue toolkit you should have access to the appearance > theme options. If you don’t first check to make sure everything is up to date. (plugins) if they are then it’s possible your host is using some strange set up for the wordpress files or there is a permissions issue blocking it so I would suggest contacting your hosting provider.

    I did activate the toolkit and it is up to date. Still no luck.

    It worked before and suddenly stopped so I know it’s not the host. It may have been the update to WP 4.3 that broke it?
