• Hi,

I’m having no luck getting a response from anyone at Slideshow Pro, sent 3 messages so far and I’ve checked the documentation and forums. It appears that there are issues with linking images to pages. I tried adding the link to a page from within the Media Gallery (in the Description box, which is very inconvenient) but it’s opening pages in a new window.

Does anyone know how to open a page in the same window?

    Thanks!

  • i’d also like to know how to link. i’ve seen it done here:

but don’t know how to do it on my own gallery.

    any help?

I think you’re lucky your install is working… I can’t get the combination of wp 2.9.2+standalone 1.9.8.3 + slidepress 1.3.7 to work… the swf is there, just no images and no navigation — no matter what.

That said, one other bug in slidepress, imho, is that CHECKING the THICKBOX option in slidepress actually disables it, UNCHECKING enables it — completely counter-intuitive, but hey, that’s just my two.

But if your gallery is opening in a popup, that might be the issue. If you go to the SlidePress Bug Report setting page, you can read your system settings to see if thickbox is enabled or not and compare that to whether the option is check or unchecked in the setup settings.

HTH — wish I could get a response from ssp/slidepress folks, too. I’ve sent 3 bug reports, 2 direct emails to both todd and scott and posted ad nauseum in the standalone and slidepress forums.

Not that you guys are still seeking an answer, but just in case anyone comes across this in the future:

If you go into the style settings for your gallery, under the Content tab, you’ll want to select “Launch Hyperlink” Under Content Area > Action.

From there, in the media editor where you’re adding your images, their title, and caption, you can put your hyperlink into the description field, save your changes, and the image and caption area should launch that hyperlink in the same window.

Had to search the Slidepress forums – and some OLD posts- for an answer. Hope that helps someone else seeking the same info.

I am using a setup that consist of slidepress, nextgen gallery and slidepress to nextgen bridge and cannot get my images to link to “their” pages.

I have selected “Launch Hyperlink” in the content area for action. I have add the url to the page I want to link to in the description of the nextgen gallery. No luck for me?

Is it the bridge holding me up?
