Slide show disappearing

1) Does this occur when you activate Site Kit or after you go through the setup process or make a connection to a service?

2) Could you tell us the theme or plugin you’re using to create the slideshow?

The slideshow disappeared when I activated Site Kit, but it’s also blank now that the I’ve completed the set up process. I now just have a big, blank space where the slideshow should be.

I’m using Astra theme with Jetpack – which is what creates the slideshow. If I disable Jetpack, the pictures reappear next to each other (where the slideshow should be). If I disable Site Kit, the slideshow works.

I’ve realised this is only happening when I use Ecosia browser. My site seems to be working ok on Chrome, firefox, Duck duck go, and microsoft edge. So, it’s probably ok, not many people use Ecosia.

@robinkholland Thank you for sharing those details. I would like to research this topic further.

1.) We noticed Ecosia is a browser extension, were you using another browser with it?

2.) If so, can you try to set up Site Kit in a browser incognito window?

@luckynasan I have been using the Ecosia app on my phone.

But unfotunately, the slideshow has now disappeared in Chrome.

I believe I have submitted the form with my site health.

Yes, it is on the desktop version. Although, I just now tried my site on my phone and it worked ok. When I tried opening the site on my desktop version in an incognito tab, it also worked.

We noticed you’re using a couple of must use plugins such as Endurance Browser Cache and Endurance Page Cache.

Can you try to temporarily deactivate any caching and security plugins you have active https://www.dev2qa.com/how-to-enable-disable-bluehost-endurance-page-cache/?

@robinkholland I’m following up on your topic. Does the issue still persist for you?

Yes, it is still happening. I cleared my cache and cookies yesterday, and the slideshow came back. However, it is gone again today.

Will this also be a problem for visitors to my site? Maybe I need to just get rid of the slideshow?

@robinkholland Thanks again for reporting this topic. I was able to replicate the issue you encountered and created a Github issue for us to further investigate. We noticed the issue occurred only while logged into WordPress, and didn’t occur for a visitor to the site. We’ll be sure to update you on this topic, but feel free to follow the Github link as well.
