The slideshow seems to work fine on your website. Except when resizing the browser window, the website’s sidebar isn’t pushed down in IE8, which it is in Chrome. This is simply the difference in the browser’s support for CSS.

Could you please elaborate on your issue?

You are right. It works when the browser window is of a smaller size. I have a 23″ screen so the slideshow isn’t working properly when the window fits my screen. Anyway to ensure the slider works despite the size of the browser?

    Thanks for your help.

Could you send me a screenshot and point out what’s happening there, please? I’m not sure I quite get what you mean.

Dear Stephen, I mistakenly emailed the screenshots to a no-reply address. Please can you tell me where to email the screenshots as I can’t attach via this post.

    Thanks
    Rotimi

Postes email addresses on this forum are a thing for me and frowned upon. But if you look at the plugin page and scroll down I think the email address will be revealed to you.

Thanks Jan, my WordPress email is on the description page indeed. And thanks Rotimi, I have received the screenshots.

I have found out that the table you use to list your wedding events, get way too wide in IE 8. The table is the width of the main content, plus the sidebar and sticks out 100 pixels on the right side of the website. The “Wedding Reception” row looks like it’s pushing the table to be this wide.

The slideshow sees it now has this extra 100 pixels to expand to, and does so. It’s cut off, though, when it’s trying to fall off the page. This is why the slideshow is only half showing in IE 8.

    Dear Stefan,

Thanks for your response. I have removed the table completely and I still experience the same issue.

    Kind Regards
    Rotimi

    Hi Rotimi,

I’ve noticed that the website appears to be full-width when the page is loading in IE8. Perhaps this width is then used by the slideshow, making it too wide. The slideshow isn’t yet responsive (actively adjusting to page size), it will be from version 2.2.0 on.

You could possibly set the slideshow to a fixed width, as the slideshow doesn’t adjust its width after it loads, also most visitors will be able fit the entire width of the website on their browsers.

    Best regards,
    Stefan
