Slashes instead of apostrophes on homepage

Hi,
I’m facing following two issues on my homepage text:

1. When I use apostrophe or quotation mark (‘ or “), a slash comes up as well, and no apostrophe mark shows.

2. I’m trying to create separate paragraphs for the text by giving ‘enter’. It shows correctly on the editor box doesn’t work on the site and the whole text is coming up as a single para.
