Skype Link syntax in Powen Lite

Hi,
Using Powen Lite theme, trying to get my Skype social media link to work on Chrome on Mac OS X and iPad. Other blogs (https://www.phasecreative.com.au/how-to-add-a-skype-call-link-or-button-to-a-wordpress-widget-page-or-post/ for example) seem to work fine on my computer, and launch Skype. However, my own blog tries to load my username as a URL in Chrome and Safari. Only my username (“edgecomberts”) actually places a button for Skype on the blog page.
