    Hi There,

We have installed your plugin on our site https://VirtualStudentAgency.com

Whenever a visitor tries to start a Skype conversation (chat, call) a Skype activation box pops up. It would not be a problem, but the box appears on the top of the page, but not in the same window or screen what the visitors can see, so it looks like nothing happened and the Skype button does not work, until you roll to the top of the page.

Can you please give some advice how to change this setting to show the pop-up at the same screen where the button is clicked?

    Thank you in advance,
    Adam

  • Hi Adam,

That popup is done by the script provided by Skype. It seems to be a bit ‘flakey’ at best. Furthermore, there are some big changes coming up at Skype since they where bought by Microsoft but it all remains very unclear at this point. I’ve had to disable some features in the latest updates because of sudden changes on the Skype servers.

We can only hope they will be coming with some useful updates in the near future… Until then, I cannot give you any meaningful advice. Sorry.

    Hi Ravan,

Thank you for the answers. It is not what I was looking for, but I understand the reasons. Do you have any information when would be the new Skype updates roll out?

    Thank you you in advance,
    Adam

Well, it looks like this is the new interface they are going to go for. If you do not object too much to the new button, it seems pretty simple to just paste in a text widget.

The script that is involved there uses a new way to detect if Skype is installed and while it still does not work on Linux for example, it might just work better in your case…

Let me know the result ??
