I started developing a site for a friend. Installed the Avada theme (child theme), several plugins, and started customizing various settings.

Eventually I needed to test what it looks like on Mobile, and received a blank white page with two links — “Skip to content” and “Go to top”. Searched online, and found many debugging suggestions. Eventually I found that a similar issue manifests on desktop when viewing the site logged out, except that there’s more content between the two links. Site renders fine when logged into WordPress.

I tried disabling all plugins, and changing to a standard theme, but the error persists. Early on, I edited several files via ftp on the server, to try to work around another issue. So I thought that maybe my changes to those files caused this issue. So I restored to an early backup of the site, but the issue still persists.

Oddly, the version of site being displayed in a non-logged-in browser session shows content that only existed on the home page when the Avada theme was active. Additionally, the content was removed from the home page earlier tonight prior to my walking down this path. So it seems like there’s some sort of caching going on. I’ve cleared my browser cache about a million times, and tried viewing the site from a cell phone that hadn’t previously visited it; the issue persists. So if it’s caching, it would seem to be server-side. I don’t have any caching plugins enabled, and I’m not aware of any caching that native WordPress does. Running out of ideas on what can be causing the issue, so I’m posting here to see what the community has.

Thanks for any thoughts you might have on where to look next!
