• Hi,

This is my first post and I hope someone can help me!

My experience level is absolute beginner. I have built the website by downloading a theme and editing it to suit. I figured out how to do this by using Google and YouTube.

I am wanting to build a database of qualified kitchen installers on this page:

    https://www.mascari.co.uk/find-fitter

The page is not currently showing in the navigation of the site (i.e. its hidden) as I don’t want to add it to the menu until it is completed.

This page is a portfolio page. To filter it, I want to break down the regions of the country into South East, South West etc, and sub divide each of these regions into the local cities.

In the portfolio section of the dashboard, I have assigned ‘skills’ and named them the regions. The next option is to assign ‘parent’ skills. I have named the cities, in this case Nottingham, Derby and Leicester as having ‘East Midlands’ as their parent.

I would assume this should mean only the parent skills (regions) show as the highlighted boxes on the page, and the ‘sub skills’ show when you hover the mouse over the parents.

But, all the skills, i.e. parent and sub skills are showing. In essence, the option of assigning a skill as a parent makes no difference.

    Am I missing something here?

I have found the relevant bit of coding (PHP file in editor) that I can post if that will help?

    Many thanks.
