sketchy software

  • We were disappointed to find after we installed this plugin, that it also installed 2 other plugins (Optimole and Otter Blocks) which we did not want. We did not see anything about additional plugins in the product description. I find this highly inappropriate. I would urge WP admins to flag this plugin as potentially dangerous, or even remove it.

    Part of our WP site seems to be malfunctioning after removing all 3 plugins, although we cannot seem to figure out for sure whether this problem is related to the unwanted plugins. But the timing of the problem, which started immediately after we uninstalled them, seems suspicious. Our header image has disappeared, and while we can get it back with different settings, it does not appear with the same settings we had before the extra plugins were installed.

    I wonder if you could avoid this issue by simply stating in the product’s description that it uses 2 other plugins. Then your new users would not be surprised by it, which causes them to become suspicious of the product.

    Btw, we finally fixed the other issue that started around the same time as we installed LightStart. We don’t know if it caused the problem. But in any case, it’s no longer an issue ??
