• After the December 13th 2021 update, we noticed the instagram feed stopped working and this plugin started printing out a PHP warning message in addition to the plugins own error message, despite server settings being configured to direct all errors and warnings to the Apache2 log only.

Fortunately it was visible only to WP admins, but I can’t say I have much trust in this plugin anymore.

    Hi @slramela,

Thanks for your feedback here. We have an error reporting system built into the plugin that will use various methods to alert the site owner if there is an issue with your site connecting to Instagram to update your feed. Part of this error reporting system, is a notice displayed above your feed which is only visible to site admins. This provides information on what the issue is so that you can fix the issue. A backup cached version of the feed is displayed to all regular visitors to your site so that it looks like normal.

We built this error reporting system as it was highly requested by our users in order to alert them when an issue occurs, such as your host or a security plugin inadvertently blocking the connection to Instagram, or some other issue which prevents the plugin from retrieving new posts. If you’d like, we can provide a custom CSS snippet which will hide all error reporting notices for admins too so that you won’t see them. Just let us know!

If you have any other issues or feedback at all then please just let us know as we are always striving to improve the plugin and create a better experience for our users ??

    John
