Sites reload without stopping

  • I have two sites that continue to reload without stopping. Read another post similar. Went through and deactivated every plugin, reactivated one by one. Always the last one, so deactivate and still reloading. Both sites have different plugins.

    I am stuck, have repeated this step three times each, taking a break to see if someone has any ideas.

    If I’m reading your results correctly, it doesn’t sound like Widget Wrangler is the problem.

    My interpretation of your results:

    In test #1, you disabled Widget Wrangler on both sites, and the sites continually reloaded in the customizer.

    In test #2, you disabled All in One WP Security, and the reloading stopped.

    Test 3 and 4 seem inconclusive.

    I think your problem is either:

    A. Browser or browser extension (you don’t seem to have the issue outside of Chrome)
    B. All in One WP Security
    C. Conflict between All in One WP Security and Widget Wrangler.

    As the developer of Widget Wrangler, if it is causing an issue I’d much rather fix it than have you stop using it.

    I recommend:

    1. Enable all the plugins you want to use, disable all your Chrome browser extensions, and test the site. If it does the reloading, then we can rule out extensions.

    2. Enable all the plugins you want to use, and test the sites thoroughly in Firefox. If the issue doesn’t show up, then the problem could be Chrome.

    3. Email me (or a forum mod) privately and give them administrator access to your sites, so they can test it with development tools.

    My email address is not hard to find, but you may prefer to contact a Forum Mod. Your call.

    If someone debugs the issue and finds that it is definitely Widget Wrangler’s fault, please have them contact me in some way about the issue and I will fix it.

    HI Johnathan,

    I am using Widget Wrangler in my OfficeWife.biz site with all the same plugins as Aspiritualparadigm.com But I am using the 2014 theme in OW, it is not reloading. Rather there is nothing there by the customizer menu.

    All this started with the latest WP update. Ick.

    When I deactivate all the plugins there is no problem. And one at a time, no issue. But all of them? Yes. As long as the primary site is not reloading I do not care right now. I have spent too much time on this currently.

    Took some time, Deactivated All in One WP Security and the issue went away. Can use the customizer menu in both aspiritualparadigm and barrettjunctioncafe and the site is not reloading either. However, Officewife in the customizer menu, does not reload, but the site does not show. Not taking any more time today. Won’t be using that menu for a bit anyway.

    Thank you Johnathan for the other suggestions and the time to assist me. Google techs are taking a look also.
