    Hi there,
    I am kind of new to web development and have developed a whole new site however I can’t find where to edit my Google Meta Description for my site. I hope somebody can help!

    Example:
    Google
    https://www.google.co.uk/?
    The local version of this pre-eminent search engine, offering UK-specific pages as well as world results. – This is the area I need to try and change for my site.

  • Download the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin. It adds a bunch of extremely useful, SOE functionality (including what you’re looking for).

    I already have this plugin and I have entered text into:
    Home Title:

    Home Description:

    Home Keywords (comma separated):

    However still none of this text appears when I search my domain in google.

    Well, your site needs to be indexed first before that information can be displayed. Right now, Google doesn’t know about the changes ??

    How long has it been since you updated these values? It usually takes a couple of days. Three-five days.

    Oh right well I have recently changed the SEO Tile, Description and Keywords through the plugin about 5 minutes ago! However is that all I need to do or do I have to do something in the index or config files?

    Oh dear! Yeah, five minutes is not enough for Google to have re-indexed your site.

    If you’re using the plugin I mentioned then all you need to do is update the title/description/keywords of the page you want and just have a little bit of patience.

    Then, if after three days you still haven’t seen any changes, maybe try posting again.
