SiteOrigin Contact Form – Default Subject not working

Hi,
I have inserted the SiteOrigin Contact Form into a page;
I entered a Default Subject;
I have left the Subject Line ‘required field’ unchecked.When I try to send a test e-mail without filling the subject-line, the email is not sent and I get a notification that the subject line is missing, but shouldn’t it fill automatically with the Default Subject?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
