• Hi

Is it possible to use both sitemap generators or should I only use Yoast. With my site I removed lots of posts and now Google keeps looking for those posts and failing the site. Is it possible to regenerate the sitemaps so that content is no longer listed and ask Google to retrawl using those sitemaps only please?

I have also noticed Google includes the /feed/ page in its indexing. Is this normally included in a sitemap please?

    Thanks

    Hi @cregy

You mentioned you removed some posts, so have you deleted those posts? If yes, have you set the 301 redirect or proper 410 status?

    Update sitemap:

The Yoast SEO plugin create sitemaps on the fly. This means sitemaps are updated automatically when you add, edit, or delete content. Therefore, there is no need to generate or rebuild the sitemaps in most cases.

    /feed/ URLs:

WordPress adds /feed/ URLs to all pages and these are not generated by the Yoast SEO plugin. We have /feed/ URLs on our site as well but they’re set to?noindex?so that search engines won’t index them. I performed a site search and I don’t see the /feed/ URLs as indexed for your site, so there’s no cause for concern.

Thanks for the reply. I haven’t set 301s or 410s. I am reading about them now.
