• Is there a plugin that you can use to show sub headings under your Google listing? I often see a company come up on Google and then under it are up to 6 sub categories?

    Thanks,

    John

  • Nope – that’s completely under Google’s control.

    Who do you have to know at Google or how do they choose? I have typed my domain in and when I do that sometimes it shows subheadings?????

    Thanks for the quick answer!

    I have no idea but I very much doubt that it is based on “who you know”. Try asking on Google’s own forums.

    Where do I find the Google forums? I had an SEO guy tell me all you needed to do is install an HTML sitemap plugin?

    Wow – I’m really loving the support here. Just goes to show that there are those that are truly looking to help others and those that just don’t care as long they post a response.

    thegrons – if you want to know more about the additional pages that show up under some listings in Google have a look at this page:

    They are called Sitelinks and it’s got nothing to do with a sitemap plugin.

    I hope this helps more than just sending you off to do a search on your own.

    Thanks Everythingink;

    I read Google’s article on this and they seem to be quite arbitrary with regards to how they determine to do this, they said to make sure that all hyperlinks have alt text and everything else on the site is neat and clean but still not sure what their criteria is. The downside to this is that when they decide to allow sitelinks for a listing it knocks off others from page one.

    Thanks for the answer and commentary!
