    Hi!

I’ve tried different things but i can’t seem to solve this problem. When i try to load the URL /sitemap_index.xml it redirects to my homepage. However this URL seems to work: https://jaccodejager.nl/?sitemap=1 but when trying to open the sitemaps being listed in the index i also get redirected to the homepage.

    – I’ve tried editing the .htaccess
    – I’ve checked robots.txt
    – I’ve disabled all the plugins except Yoast SEO
    – I’ve deleted ‘redirection’ plugin and caching plugins
    – I’ve updated the Theme i’m using.

I don’t know whats left for me to try. Can someone tell me what the cause is and how i can fix it?

    Thanks!

    Hi @donorbrain

It looks like the Yoast SEO sitemap is loading correctly as expected with the non-pretty permalink of https://jaccodejager.nl/?sitemap=1 and we understand that when trying to load it with the pretty permalink of /sitemap_index.xml, it redirects to the homepage.

It’s possible that your NGINX server isn’t set up with the correct redirect rules for the sitemap. You can refer to this article for more info on how to address this – https://yoast.com/help/xml-sitemaps-nginx/

Hi! Sorry for my late reply but this issue isn’t resolved yet.
My hosting provider claims the problem must be solved on my side. I’ve pointed them to the NGINX solution but they keep pointing at me. Is there perhaps an other way to solve it without NGINX?
