    Hi there.
I am using your greta plugin, but I have a problem with sitemap.
I deleted a few pages on my website, but they still appear on the sitemap.
I deactivated that option, clear caches, reactivated sitemap and the problem is still not slved.
    Any idea?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi @patrickhaond

Would it be possible for you to share a link to your sitemap as well as an example URL of a post or page that you’ve deleted or trashed but is still showing up in one of the sub-sitemaps?

    @patrickhaond

We are able to replicate the issue after inspecting the given URLs. The deleted link should not appear in the sitemap.

Upon checking your site it seems the Yoast SEO plugin is a slightly older version.

If you update, does the issue resolve?

You may need to clear all your cache from your theme, plugin, server, and CDN like CloudFlare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.

Few other suggestions if still, the issue remains:

    1. Resave the permalink settings
    2. Enable disable the sitemap options

Thank you @suascat_wp for your help!
I did everything, update Yoast plugin, cleared all caches, resave permalink settings, enable disable sitemap options.
    Unfortunately nothing changed…
I tried to check from another computer in another house, same problem, the deleted urls still appeared.

    Hi @patrickhaond

We would expect that if you delete posts and pages, it wouldn’t be listed in the sitemap anymore. Upon checking the /commander-2/ page, we see that it redirects to the homepage. If the redirect was created with the redirect manager in Yoast SEO Premium, it should update the sitemap automatically.

Thank you @mikes41720 for your help.
I didn’t use the Yoast Premium version, so does it mean I am supposed to buy it to make it work?

    Hi @patrickhaond

We just mean redirects created with other plugins aren’t detected by the Yoast SEO sitemap. If it was the redirect manager in the Yoast SEO Premium plugin, then the redirect would be detected.

But we would expect that if you just delete a page (and not create any redirect with a 3rd party plugin), that it would be removed from the sitemap.

Thank you @mikes41720 for your help.
I understand but I didn’t use any other plugin to make any redirection.

I checked the redirect status and it seems to be redirected by WordPress. Therefore, you can do that using the filter. You or your developer can also use a filter to bulk exclude posts or pages from the Yoast SEO sitemap. The filter would be placed in your functions.php file. If you’re not sure where that is, please contact your theme developer. As a best practice, we recommend making a backup prior to editing theme files.
