    Hi @rickyrosa

We’re looking at your robots.txt file and it looks different from the Yoast SEO default directive of:

    User-Agent: *
    Disallow:
    Sitemap: https://www.example.com/sitemap_index.xml

You can learn more about it here – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-edit-robots-txt-through-yoast-seo/

It seems to be using the ‘allow’ command instead of the ‘disallow’, which we’re not sure if it’s an absolute factor, but could you try and modify your robots.txt file to the default directives, and then try and remove and resubmit your sitemap in Google Search Console and check if the sitemap can then be parsed and read –

    Hi @mikes41720

Yes, we did change the robots.txt as a first tentative to resolve this sitemap issue. We reverted it yesterday and tried to remove and resubmit the sitemap in Google Search Console. Again, no success.
Today we tried to submit the most recent XML post sitemap, adding some //, as https://famashow.pt///post-sitemap4.xml and I guess it finally worked out. We’ll check again tomorrow.

    Thanks

    Hi,

It looks like sitemap fetching only works once, when we re-submit the xml as described earlier, with more than one /.
Since Wednesday, when we dit it, there weren’t more readings according to Google Search Console.

    Hello Rickyrosa,

Currently, https://famashow.pt/sitemap_index.xml is not generated by the Yoast-SEO plugin but by another plugin. However, we’ll like some more information:

    1. Are you submitting the correct sitemap URL of sitemap_index.xml?
    2. Does the URL inspection tool‘s live test show any errors with the sitemap URL? If yes, please resolve the errors.
    3. Did you submit the sitemap to the Google Search Console profile that matches the preferred URL format, including HTTP(s) and www or non-www?

If you’ve checked everything above, please contact Google for further assistance here.`
