Hi Rank Math Support Team,

We need your help as we get stuck in solving the issue of validating our sitemap xml.

Information in advance:

We are using the Plugin Flowfact WP Connector which provides different modules to reflect our services as Real Estate Agent. I.a. the Plugin displays real estates via the routing /ff/immobilien/ (https://www.visconti-immobilien.de/ff/immobilien/) and should create a sitemap under */ff/immobilien/sitemap.xml .

Using the sitemap service via your Plugin we DON’T have any issue with the sitemap_index.xml under our domain https://www.visconti-immobilien.de .

But we are getting errors by validating the sitemap */ff/immobilien/sitemap.xml .
We are receiving the error: Incorrect http header content-type: “text/html; charset=UTF-8” (expected: “application/xml”)
The other way round: Deactivating your sitemap service we are receiving the error for trying to validate the sitemap for our domain. And Flowfact sitemap is working.

Still to be mentioned we are using the caching and compression service of Swift Performance Lite. Already excluded the sitemap string from caching. As far as we configured this correctly.

Do you have any idea to solve the sitemap issues?
Could we add a second sitemap to Rank Math?

Thank you for your message.

It might not be good idea to have 2 different Sitemaps and Rank Math does not have any option for that.

Instead of adding a new Sitemap, you can use the following filter to add Custom links in the Rank Math’s Sitemap:
https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#add-extra-urls-in-sitemap

I inserted the below in my function.php, submitted that in google search console but links are not added. Kindly ask you to have a look if below code is correct:

Hello @clau77

The $type is dynamic, you should change it to your post type where you want to add extra URLs.

Here is an example code:

The above code adds KML in the Sitemap.

You will need some coding knowledge to add the code or you can hire some developers to do that for you.
